Autumn in Utsjoki is hunting season, ruska colours, and the last warmth before winter. Outatupa is set up for groups who arrive with their own plan: grouse on the fells, ptarmigan in the birch scrub, and evenings around the dining table with a day's stories. Two apartments means a group of 4–6 can spread out properly.
A typical day
What your days actually look like
- Early departure — grouse and ptarmigan hunting on fell terrain from first light.
- Return in the afternoon. Store equipment in the utility spaces.
- Sauna — electric sauna for a quick wash, or fire the smoke sauna for the full experience.
- Cook together at the big dining table. The kitchen handles real meal prep.
- Evening around the fireplace. Plan tomorrow's terrain. Silence guaranteed.
Why Outatupa
What makes this place fit the trip

- Two apartments: split a group across two fully equipped units with their own kitchens.
- Carport and storage: keep vehicles, dogs, and equipment under cover.
- Big dining table: evening meals together, not hotel-room microwave dinners.
- Spacious private setting: room around the buildings, not a cabin park.
