Best for Couples, friends, and small private groups
Season November – March

Outakoski sits in the Tenojoki valley, 70°N, with almost zero light pollution. On a clear winter night you can watch the aurora from the balcony in your socks. When it gets cold, the soapstone fireplace holds warmth for hours. This is not a resort experience — it is a private winter base where the sky is the only programme.
A typical day
What your days actually look like
- Late morning start — there is no rush and no daylight until late morning in midwinter.
- Drive to Karigasniemi for supplies or take a snowmobile day trip with a local guide.
- Afternoon sauna: electric sauna between the apartments, or fire up the smoke sauna in the yard.
- Cook dinner in your own kitchen. The dining table fits a real evening meal.
- Step onto the balcony after dark. The aurora appears without warning. No schedule, no tour bus.
